Wellbutrin…possible side effect on eyes!?! Really scared; please help!!!?
Posted by admin in information on insomnia on October 9th, 2010
Hi…I was recently prescribed 150mg of Wellbutrin because of my depression. Ever since, my eyes hurt. They’re a little bloodshot, which I’m aware is a side effect, but that’s not really my main problem.
It feels as if my eyelids do not fit over my eyes. (<Weird, I know.) I can’t focus my eyes on anything (nothing to do with twitching or vision…I constantly have to rub at my temples to focus on something.)
I cant sleep at night, half due to the whole insomnia side effect, but also because of this bizzare "my eyelids don’t fit over my eyes thing" and thus my eyelids keep fluttering open. Please, please help. I’m extremely concerned.

Could most qualified professionals distinguish between bipolar disorder & a combination of PTSD and adult ADD?
Posted by admin in insomnia therapy on October 5th, 2010
I’ve been in counseling and on meds for a decade. I’ve had so many different diagnoses from many professionals over the years that I don’t know WHAT’s wrong with me. I have a history of panic attacks, now pretty controlled. I’ve also been diagnosed with major depressive & post-traumatic stress disorder (witnessed my infant child’s killing), bipolar disorder, personality disorder-NOS. I’ve had awful, med-resistant, chronic insomnia all that time, and my therapists have described me as in constant state of "hyper-vigilance." I’ve had a couple of very brief psychotic episodes & what some might call mania. My most recent therapist has pretty much started from scratch with me, getting her own impressions of me over a period of four months now. She says she hasn’t seen bipolar, symptoms, rather, a woman with PTSD, severe sleep deprivation & unaddressed adult ADD. After doing some reading on adult ADD, I am tending to agree with her, wondering if I’ve been getting wrong treatment a long time.

Natural Remedies for Insomnia Calm Forte & Hyland's Homepathics work great for me with no neg. side effects
Posted by admin in information on insomnia on September 21st, 2010
Someone asked this questions a few days ago and was closed to answers. Someone answered no there were no natural remedies that work—they are dead WRONG!!! I have used Calm Forte for years with great success and no side effects. Insomnia (both by Hylands) on days when I can’t seem to shut my mind down or I wake up in middle of night and can’t go back to sleep, they melt in your mouth so you don’t even have to get out of bed to take them. If you don’t have access to a good Health Food Store you can also buy Simply Sleep over the counter it works good too but I tend to feel a little groggy the next day but not as bad as other otc products. You can also put lavender essential oils on a kleenex and put it near you it will help relax you, chamomile tea, valerian, melatonin are also other options you have (all also available at health food store). I have recommended these products to many of my friends and they are helping them so I hope this helps whoever is looking for sleep!!!!
This isn’t a question it’s meant to help someone that I felt received the wrong info on a question he asked name was nick…..

Does chemical imbalance or mental illness cause chronic ravenous hunger?
Posted by admin in insomnia therapy on September 21st, 2010
For four years I’ve been in a state of severe chronic ravenous hunger and I never feel full. It started after I was treated for treatment resistant depression with ECT. I did not have this problem growing up only after suffering from insomnia and depression. A year 1/2 ago I started having chronic severe anxiety which hasn’t stopped, the hunger got twice as bad. I have severe insomnia and have noticed it has a connection to sleep. Anybody heard of this? I read an artitcle that said the chemicals in our brains not only regulate mood but also hunger and that if we don’t get enough sleep we don’t produce enough chemicals. I have tried tons of diff. anti-depressants and adderall, none of which helped the appetite.
It is not medicinal because I went off of my medication for 5 months and the hunger never stopped. And that was the biggest mistake I ever made, I was completely unstable, I couldn’t sleep at all, and it is the reason I have severe anxiety and severe fatigue now. I was very stable while taking my meds. Never stop your meds unless you consult a doctor.
I am seeing a very good psychiatrist and psychologist and they don’t know what to do. They have both been in practice for 30 years and said they’ve never heard of this.

Something other than Melatonin?
I kid you not, this is my fifth day without sleep.
No, I am not on drugs. Just extremely stressed and busy trying to balance work, an internship, and school full time (finals).
My hectic schedule should be dying down by the end of next week,
but until then, I need a quick fix.
Anybody have any cures?
Additional note guys: I don’t smoke weed!
Sorry, haha.

I have insomnia and need help?
Posted by admin in reasons for insomnia on September 4th, 2010
For the past couple of days I have been struggling with insomnia. I have been unable to fall asleep and if I do, I jolt awake within 20 minutes. I think I have been averaging maybe 2 hours (tops) of sleep like that a night. I did pop a benedryl the other night and slept great, but I want to cure this naturally. I want my life back – I want to be awake a work and able to go out a bit in the evening. How can I get back to my normal sleeping habit.
Possible reasons I have insomnia – I quit smoking under a week ago. I moved back in with my folks after being on my own for 3 years. I am starting to get into a new relationship with a nice boy but am not sure I am ready to date.
Please help me!!!
