Chronic Lyme sufferers' stories?

Anyone here suffering / have suffered from chronic Lyme? What has worked for you? Have you had trouble finding treatment?

Myself, I was misdiagnosed for seven years with asthma, then they decided that it was all in my head. I had a constant upper respiratory infection, chronic insomnia, fatigue, arthritis in my hands, and headaches. Not to mention depression and anxiety. I finally recieved treatment from a Lyme specialist, and now, after eight years and a lot of switching medications, my symptoms have died down to a tolerable level.

I know of a lady that has been to more than 20 doctors and various clinics for the last five and also failed to properly diagnose Lyme disease. She was undiagnosed for so long, the disease produces a myriad of symptoms, not the least of which is intense, burning, stabbing pain, particularly in the back and spine. The worst pain often indicated the area of a primary infection site form the bacteria that causes the disease. Nothing had ever been effective for the pain, not even steroid injections. She was finally diagnosed last spring. She said she decided to apply Melaleuca Oil in the areas of the worst pain everyday. Within one week she had more relief than any prescription pain killer, or even Tens unit ever gave, because the oil didn’t just stop the pain, it stopped the infection.

    I hope this helps you.

This is quite the opposite of a story that you were looking for, but this came from Dr. Dubouch PH. D. who felt that his story needed to be told. His favorite quote is "Your body knows more about what you need and don’t need than all doctors in the world. You just have to stop assaulting it with what harms and start feeding it what is missing."

Dr. Dubouch hadn’t been sick during his 61 years of living. Suddenly he began rapidly weakening and was diagnosed with lyme disease. He upped his glyconutritional intake and was able to fight the disease in two months. It has not returned. http://glyco.com/vip/291327480496

Something similar happened to my sister, although they only missed the diagnoses for a few months, but she had joint pain, fatigue, heart palpitations etc. and did not feel better for a long time after treatment. Then years later, the lyme suddenly "came back" even though she hadn’t been bitten by another tick. It definitely seems like a chronic disease if you don’t treat it in early stages!
